FAROE TO SHETLAND — NO GPS

Faroe Islands → Shetland Islands
Leaving the Faroe Islands, the Albatroz heads south across open North Atlantic waters toward Shetland. Although considerably shorter than the passage to Trindade, these northern waters bring a different navigational challenge, with strong tidal streams, rapidly changing weather, currents and periods of limited visibility all capable of affecting the route. GPS is not allowed: locating Shetland and making a successful landfall are part of the race itself.
