Born from hundreds of nautical miles sailed, tested, repaired, modified, argued about, and pushed far beyond what a small open boat probably should do, the UCD02-MKII *Sunderling* is the next evolution of the original UCD02 Narceja. The Narceja was always a very honest boat. A garage-built spirit. Experimental. Improvised at times. Built by sailors, for sailors. A small boat made to explore weather, distance, mistakes, and possibilities. The *Sunderling* keeps that exact soul. But now everything we learned from the Narceja has been rebuilt into the boat from the ground up. The hull, rudder, and mast remain faithful to the original design that made the Narceja such a unique and capable little expedition boat. But almost everything around them evolved. The UCD02-MKII introduces a far more refined and detailed 3D model, improved structural construction, expanded sail configurations, a bowsprit setup, additional headsails, gennaker options, improved balance, more onboard details, and many small refinements hidden throughout the boat for sailors who enjoy discovering them over time. This is not a completely different boat. This is the Narceja becoming what it was always trying to become. A small open sailing boat designed for people who enjoy real seamanship, experimentation, long passages, strange ideas, difficult waters, and the beauty of tiny boats crossing places they probably should not.
