50' Gaff Cutter Class
- I was looking for a friendly yacht for pen duick, for beautiful, sporty and elegant regattas
- so I needed a 50 feet gaff cutter from the end of the 19th century, historic and why not with a pretty bird name
- pen duick in Breton means "little black head" for the tern, the little seabird
- I found it in Gosport, built by Camper and Nicholson in 1885 and designed by John Beavor-Webb
- inspired by Bristol Channel pilot cutter, it was built for racing like Alain Gerbault's famous firecrest
- the Englishes eat strange things and drive on the wrong side of the road but they know how to make the most beautiful yachts
- I prepared it for same performances to Pen Duick, so that it is the sailors who win and not the boats
- i'm happy to present you; " Partridge 1885 ",the world's oldest racing yacht and a very beautiful bird
