Special offer from 14.9.2024 Until 01.10.2024 during the introduction of the RTC44 the price of SC 75 will be 300 Bubbles. Jan Kruidvat, CEO of Pro Stride sport equipment: "A bullet is a projectile shot from a gun barrel !" We enjoyed having Jan aboard to show him what she can do. Hull 1 promptly was christened "Stride Bullet" Geometry of the hull and foils is subject to changes as "Stride Bullet" continues to perform as test bed for the Sailaway Cup's 75 footers prospective 50 + kts BS at 15-20 kts TWS (Work in Progress) target speeds The test program running since 01 2024 already exceeds expectations. Beating design polars by more than twofold. Because of the unexpected breakthroughs in foil design, release to market has been moved up by 6! months..expected now for 3rd week of September 2024. Bar show stoppers. (Issues that may be found and that would demand postponement. ) The SC75 development is sponsored by Stride Pro sports equipment manufacturer. Stride Pro signed up as the main sponsor. Stride Pro is welcomed aboard the virtual sailing world. Admiral III: “With some help SC75 design could be optimized to allow foiling in sunbathing mode. 1. In sunbathing mode set both the main sails, and the jib. 2. Achieve foiling at +/- 40° AWA at >= 2 bft wind 3. Go to seawater in veins mode while maintaining +/- 40° AWA and not changing any sail trim, lower or raise the foils as required 4. Stay in seawater in veins mode lower both foils to 0° and try to stay on foils while maintaining +/-40 AWA and gybe or tack smoothly and quickly. 5. Medium and higher sea states are to be avoided. (adjust conditions, and don’t tell anyone ? ) 6. Under ideal conditions achieved up to 50 Kts in winds of 25+ kts in flat water. SC75 is equipped with twinfoil mainsail and a double end plate boom. Issues: Autopilot "Charlie" cannot control foil angle beyond max down (-70° and max up + 90°). Foiling angles near 0° are required for maximum efficiency. Twin foil main is created utilizing loopholes that may no longer be exploitable at any time in the future. Twin foil main may however also be introduced as a feature, with proper aerodynamics applied in the future. Hydrofoils and rudder profiles are not considered, introduction of profiles, slats and flaps to manipulate shape and means to change angle of attack may drastically change the behavior. Requiring control surfaces and reconsideration of the application of the NACA 008 profile used to shape the appendages. Some issues with import of 3d model will be fixed soon where light reflection are wrong will be fixed inSailawa update 1.04 all already fixed from hull, other part will follow after update 1.04 is rolled out All issues were reported and work on them is in progress. Updates are set to be published on the first Monday of the month. Feel free to request the creator for access to the prototype for testing. Improvements and fixes will be tested on prototype before transfer to the real live boat. |
